We hope everyone stayed safe during the recent storms. The University District Community Association is reaching out with a few practical safety tips and cleanup resources to help clear debris across the neighborhood.
Storm Cleanup & Safety Resources
- Fallen Trees & Large Branches: If you have large tree debris on your property or street, report it using the Improve Detroit App or call the City Forestry Department directly at (313) 590-3336.
- Free Heavy-Duty Yard Bags: If you need heavy-duty contractor bags for yard cleanup, call the UDCA hotline at (313) 318-7498 to request a batch.
- Downed Power Lines: Treat all downed wires as live! Contact DTE immediately at (800) 477-4747 to report hazards.
- Prevent Local Flooding: Please check street gutters near your home and clear leaves or debris from storm drains so runoff water can flow freely.
Taking these quick steps helps keep everyone in the University District safe while ensuring our neighborhood looks its absolute best ahead of our upcoming Home Tour next Saturday, September 12th!
Thank you for everything you do to keep our community safe, beautiful, and welcoming.
